Simon Kranz studied stage dance at the Mannheim University of Music and Performing Arts as a scholarship holder of the Birgit Keil Dance Foundation. Subsequently, he was engaged as a dancer at the BallettVorpommern Greifswald/ Stralsund. After completing a master’s degree in theater and orchestra management at the University of Music and Performing Arts Frankfurt am Main, he was first production manager in the 2015/16 season and then company manager of the Hessian State Ballet from 2016 to 2019.

After ending his active career as a dancer, Simon Kranz began a very personal search for his own artistic power and, in particular, a search for a new form of expression as an artist. He formed his artistic language off stage in studies in which he tries to bring the dance qualities he has developed over many years to canvas. Since September 2021 he is a freelance artist and works mainly with ink and acrylic on canvas. His works are characterised by strong colours and dance inspired abstract forms. With the beginning of his freelance artistic activity, he successfully focuses on a trend reinforced by the Corona Pandemic and sells his works succesfully via social media and his website.

For the summer of 2023, he opened his own pop-up gallery in Frankfurt’s Westend and ended the year very successfully at the Discovery Art Fair Frankfurt am Main. In 2024, Simon Kranz can be seen for the first time at ARTMUC and Discovery Art Fair Cologne. He lives and works in Frankfurt Sachsenhausen.
